No Job Title

When people ask me what I do for a living, I have a hard time answering. It’s not something I can sum up in a concise statement. Sure, I have a job title at work, and I have a job title on LinkedIn and on my resume and all that stuff. But what I do for a living isn’t that simple. And I think that’s okay.

So when someone asks me next, I’ll just say this.

I am a person who likes to start things. Things that add a little silliness to an otherwise regular day. Things that challenge me and things that can bring a smile to the grouchiest person’s face.

I like to create things. Things people use, and things that actually improve lives in some way — no matter how small. If I can add an ounce of fun to an otherwise mundane experience, that’s cool.

I love connecting people — there’s nothing that brings me more joy than learning someone I love is connected with someone else who has inspired me or made a difference in my life. It fuels my passions to see people connecting.

I love learning. After college I attended The Creative Circus and learned how to be a Copywriter and how to work as a team and how to create ideas to sell products that can change people’s lives. Now I’m learning how to be a better communicator in a masters program, and I’m learning communication at its core is much more nuanced than I ever imagined.

I love to build things. Things like groups of people who may only have a few similarities before they come together to become an even cooler collective.
